An old post of Will Jacks has been going viral after he peeled off his maiden IPL century in the company of Virat Kohli.

With Virat Kohli continuing his scintillating form, Royal Challengers Bengaluru claimed their third victory of this Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Kohli played a fine knock of an unbeaten 77 off 44 balls, helping his side beat Gujarat Titans by nine wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Will Jacks also came up with a terrific knock to guide RCB to a win. While Kohli built the foundation of the 201-run chase, Jacks got the job done in quick time with a blistering hundred. The duo stitched a partnership of 166 runs as RCB sealed the victory in 16 overs.

It was certainly a memorable occasion for Jacks, who seems to be a fan of Kohli.

Following their match-winning performances, the RCB shared a picture of the two players on Instagram. The post also featured an old tweet from Jacks.

In October 2022 when Kohli scripted a miraculous finish against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup, Jacks had written, “The king for a reason,” tagging the former Indian skipper.

The performance GT helped Kohli solidify his position at the top of the Orange Cap charts. He also became the first player to breach the 500-run mark in this IPL. Kohli has an excellent average of 71.42 from his 10 appearances in the tournament so far.

RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first in Ahmedabad.

The hosts lost both their openers early. Sai Sudarshan and Shahrukh Khan then revived the innings with an 86-run stand. David Miller also chipped in with a crucial cameo of 26 runs as GT posted 200 runs on the board in 20 overs.

Opening the innings alongside Kohli, RCB captain Faf du Plessis got the start  but couldn’t carry on. The South African batter smashed 24 off 12 balls before being dismissed by Sai Kishore.

Kohli held his end while Will Jacks went all guns blazing. The Englishman whacked as many as ten sixes and five fours to reach the triple-figure mark in 41 deliveries.

Despite the win, RCB are still reeling at the bottom of the IPL standings. They currently have six points in 10 matches. In their next game, RCB will once again take on GT on May 4.
