If reports are to be believed, the 29-year-old is on the radar of Red Bull, who are looking to enlist the services of the Spaniard under their banner for the 2025 season.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz picked up his first race win of the year as he triumphed at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, racing to the chequered flag ahead of teammate Charles Lecler, who came in second.

If reports are to be believed, the 29-year-old is on the radar of Red Bull, who are looking to enlist the services of the Spaniard under their banner for the 2025 season.

Lewis Hamilton’s bombshell announcement of his impending switch to Ferrari in the year 2025 caused a maelstrom in the racing world and posed a question mark over Sainz’s future with the Prancing Horse.

The seven-time F1 champions is set to partner Charles Leclerc in the next season of the championships, leaving Sainz with a quest for a new team.

Three-time defending champion Max Verstappen, who retired early at the Australian Grand Prix, has been dominating the world of F1 since his first title, which came in a rather controversial manner, and will continue to head the Red Bull charge in the foreseeable future.

And hence, the possibility of Sainz walking into RBR poses a threat to fan favourite Sergio Perez, who has had a rather troubled relationship with the Red Bull management for a while now.

Verstappen leads the F1 2024 standings despite the DNF result at Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit thanks to his two race wins at the opening couple of races in the calendar at Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Perez completed a Red Bull 1-2 at both Middle Eastern circuits, with Sainz taking the final podium place at Bahrain and teammate Leclerc coming in this at Saudi Arabia.

Dutchman Verstappen has 51 points to his name this season stands atop the drivers table, while Perez has 36 points under his belt and follows his teammate on the standings.

Red Bull Racing top the constructors championship table with 87 points, while Ferrari come in second with 49 points, including their 1-2 finish down under.
