Given United’s current profligacy in front of goal, sources say the team’s management is considering bringing in the experienced Frenchman from Atletico Madrid, where the 32-year-old has experienced somewhat of a renaissance after his tumultuous time at Barcelona.

English giants Manchester United are reportedly considering a deal to bring in French star striker Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford to address their goalscoring problems this season.

Eri ten Hag’s Manchester United are sixth on the Premier League table with 21 points from 12 games, having won seven games and lost the other five. They are already 7 points off table toppers and cross-town rivals Manchester City.

United have found goals hard to come by scoring just 13 goals in their PL outings this season, with star Englishman Marcus Rashford failing to replicate the lofty standards he set last season.

United new-boy Rasmus Hojlund, who has found the back of the net for the Red Devils in the UEFA Champions League, is yet to open his account in the English top flight.

According to reports, United representatives have already jetted off to Spain to hold talks with the World Cup winner. And the English side are ready to nearly triple Griezmann’s earnings if he chooses a move to the Theatre of Dreams.

His wealth of experience would certainly help struggling United, who are also on the cusp of an early exit from the UEFA Champions League, placed fourth in their group following their shock loss to FC Kobnhavn.

United have won just one game out of the four they have played in the continental tournament this season and will have to win their remaining two games against Galatasaray and Bayern Munich and hope for positive results elsewhere if they are to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the elite European competition.
