Manchester united manager Erik ten Hag may signal a massive clearout that could see the likes of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane leave.

Erik ten Hag has reportedly made a U-turn over two of his stars on their transfers away from the club. Manchester United have devised a massive clearout that could see the likes of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane leave. United’s season has been full of drama. From kit problems to mentality issues of the players, the Trafford-based club has been on an absolute rollercoaster. Another report has now emerged that United coach Erik ten Hag has now reconsidered the transfer decision of two players. As per The Independent, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay have impressed the Dutchman with their recent performances. He is appreciative of the duo forcing their way into the team to deliver for their club.

Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay were both closing to leave in the summer this year. Maguire spent much of his season break training with Ricardo Carvalho. He eventually found a way back into the squad after no deals with other clubs over the player’s transfer. After an underwhelming start to the campaign, the Englishman is gradually rediscovering his form with United. He played a key role in the backline for the Red Devils in their last Premier League fixture against Chelsea. In that match, McTominay was the player to score both goals for his club. The Scotsman was on the verge of leaving for West Ham last summer but his passion for his club led him to reject the move and earn a place back in the dressing room.

Events from last week suggested that Erik ten Hag lost support in the dressing room at Manchester United.

United’s management troubles in the last years have resulted in a bloated squad. The remnants of several managerial regimes have resulted in the need for a clear-out. It should be noted that not all players listed on the transfer market had a fallout with their coach. Casemiro is one such player, who has failed to fit in at Old Trafford. The Brazilian was considered to be a revelation last season but he is not the type of midfielder that the Ten Hag wants.

Raphael Varane’s relationship with Erik ten Hag has also turned a little frosty in the last few months. Having ticked all the required boxes for the Dutchman, Varane established himself as a regular starter for United. Of late, Varane has just started one of his last 11 games. Players like Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Like Shaw have been preferred over the World Cup winner. Varane had suffered a minor injury in October but his recovery just wasn’t enough to earn him a spot back into the playing eleven.
