Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League standings, haveing only managed five wins in 15 games.

Chelsea seem to have found themselves on an unwanted list this season with their poor disciplinary record surfacing on social media. Apart from an underwhelming season, the Blues currently hold the third-worst disciplinary record across Europe. It has been revealed that Chelsea have received an astonishing total of 50 cards so far this season. This includes 47 yellow cards and three red cards. The only teams exceeding the London-based club are La Liga outfits Getafe (66 cards) and Cadiz (54 cards). This means that Chelsea are also the most-carded Premier League side this season as Wolves and Sheffield United follow behind closely with 48 and 46 cards, respectively.

Chelsea have been on the back foot in the Premier League since the beginning of this season. They have been jolted by suspensions, limiting them to only a handful of players in this campaign. The latest addition to the list of booked players is midfielder Connor Gallagher who now faces suspension after being sent off against Brighton. The booking saw him miss Chelsea’s vital away game at Old Trafford which they lost 2-1 to Manchester United.

Connor Gallagher is the third Chelsea player to be sent off this season apart from the likes of Malo Gusto and Reece James. Nicolas Jackson has also been side-lined after accumulating a handful of yellow cards in the ongoing campaign.

There are a total of four English teams featuring in the top 10 European squads with the most bookings this season. Brighton hold the eighth spot with 45 bookings this season. Two of those have been red cards. Sheffield United’s 44 yellow cards and two red cards put them in fifth position. The final spot is occupied by Wolverhampton who are placed fourth, having conceded 45 yellow cards and three red cards. The other teams featured on this list include Sevilla, Villareal, Granada and Rayo Vallecano. What many may find surprising is the fact that all the remaining six teams in the top-10 are from Spain.

Coming back to on-field developments, in their last match, Chelsea were outclassed by Manchester United in the Premier League. Midfielder Scott McTominay scored a brace to secure three crucial points for Manchester United. This has put The Blues in 10th place in the league standings. They have only managed five wins in 15 games so far while losing six. They will next face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, December 10.
